Action Research as a Tool of Teaching ESP in a Flipped Learning Environment*

This study aims to contextualize a flipped learning environment for ESP learners at faculty of pharmacy, considering learners’ suggestions and the teacher-researcher’s field notes benefitting from collaboratively problem-solving processes action research. Thus, was designed as first-person research, where teacher-researcher collaborated with 38 pharmacy students taking an EOP course in their third year university Turkey. The instruction evaluated, firstly, during implementation via video-recording 12 weekly three-class-hour courses, collecting reflective journals keeping notes; secondly, after finishing by holding focus group interviews students. data were analyzed inductive content analysis. findings indicate that strategy ensured many advantages, including efficient use class time, differentiation peer interaction well bringing adoption problems derived teacher dependence established habits. Conducting research not only improved relationships but also contributed her professional identity practitioner. Considering study, practical implications practice further presented.
